Autumn gastronomy in the Cantina del Gusto
Autumn creeps up on us slowly and gently, bringing with it shorter days and the gradual shedding of leaves from the trees. It gifts us with breath-taking natural sights, with subtle shades of light at dawn and dusk, and trees that dazzle with their intensity of color.
We’re affected by all the colors around us. Think of the dinner table, when the lack of certain ingredients which naturally brighten up our meals makes us long for summertime.
The ColorHotel is dazzling in the spring and summer months, but we love the autumn, when there’s so much to enjoy, particularly when it comes to food and wine.
Think of the vivid colors of certain fruits, such as persimmons, figs, pomegranates and grapes. Autumn is the season for pumpkins, cabbages, beets, mushrooms and truffles. All of our taste senses mingle and merge: sweet, savoury, sour and bitter.
We’re taking advantage of the arrival of autumn with a triple-treat tasting evening:
- An aperitivo with our sommelier Marta, who will join us at our wine tasting;
- A ‘themed’ gourmet tasting menu, led by our chef Fabio;
- And lastly, a rum and chocolate tasting with our head barman, Alessandro.
Taking place in our Cantina del Gusto, the event will be both exclusive and intimate, limited to a small number of tables.
The evening will start with an aperitivo introduced by our sommelier Marta and accompanied by a tasting menu created specifically by our chef. Each evening will focus on a different seasonal product which will take the starring role in the evening’s entertainment.
During the tasting, our sommelier Marta will pair a wine and talk us through its characteristics while our chef Fabio introduces us to his menu.
At the end of dinner, our guests will be delighted by a chocolate and rum tasting under the guidance of our head barman, Alessandro. Has that whetted your appetite?
